The day after Arsenal came and ran away with 4 goals against Malaysia, Liverpool FC hit town with their players making an appearance in Bukit Jalil to conduct their training in front of their fans. If I were to compare the two group of fans that turned up for both Arsenal FC and Liverpool FC, I would say there was more die hard Liverpool fans as 1/2 the stadium was filled with their fans instead of the 1/4 filled stadium during Arsenal FC’s training session.

The Reds are in town, but manager Kenny Dalglish will not be attending tomorrow’s match against the national team at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil. Dalglish attended Liverpool’s first training session at the National Stadium yesterday evening and then flew back to England later in the night to finalise the £20mil signing of Stewart Downing of Aston Villa.
“We have agreed a fee with Aston Villa and he will undergo a medical. It is an ongoing process and we will reveal the details once everything is sorted out,” said Dalglish.

Dalglish wants to there for Downing’s signing today, just as he did when Charlie Adam joined Liverpool last week. He chauffeured the Scottish star to his medical at Anfield in a £9mil deal.

Downing will be Dalglish’s third signing this season, following Blackpool’s Adam and Sunderland’s Jordan Henderson. This takes Liverpool’s spending close to £100mil since he returned to Anfield in January. Earlier, he bought England striker Andy Carroll and Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez for nearly £60mil.
For Dalglish, his immediate aim is to get Liverpool into the lucrative Champions League again.

“Our target for the coming season is to improve on our sixth placing and hopefully get into the Champions League,” said Dalglish, who won three European Cups with Liverpool in 1978, 1981 and 1984.

Dalglish was with Liverpool in China on the first leg of their tour of Asia. They struggled to a 4-3 win over Guangdong Sunray Cave in Guangzhou. Christian Poulsen, David Ngog, Conor Coady and Andy Carroll scored for Liverpool.

The team brought more equipments with them as compared to the Arsenal’s training session. they went through more drills and had more set piece being practiced. The touch football drew a lot of cheer but at the main practice, the full field was never used, only 3/4 of it. Guess they don’t want to over do their training session. Here’s a short video of what went on yesterday.

Saturday’s match is going to be an exciting one as Liverpool will have a lot to live up to as I was told by the FAM officials that the tickets was all sold out and Malaysia will have a lot to do as they would want to overcome the lost against Arsenal and try to make up for it in this match. Any prediction for Saturday?
